- Summary
- North Carolina is best known for its tobacco, lumber, and textiles. In a fully illustrated volume, native son Kuralt reminisces about his home in prose and verse, describing the heritage, history, culture, folklore, and customs of North Carolina. Favorite sons and daughters and towns with charming names are recalled as only someone like Kuralt can do. The book grew out of an idea by Governor Jim Hunt to help commemorate the 400th anniversary of the founding of the colony at Roanoke Island. Kuralt wrote the words and McGlohon the music to "North Carolina Is My Home,'' a special song of celebration. There are over 80 photographs and illustrations.
