- Confirms the existence of a strong relationship between the level and performance of knowledge-based society and different models of the welfare state in the EU-15, Hungary, and Iceland. Finds a move to a higher quality of jobs, but persisting discrepancies concerning full gender equality. Concludes that current gender mainstreaming strategies have not yet empowered women.
