- Summary
- During the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries everyone who was anybody had a set of Chinese porcelain, which became a typical part of household furnishings in New Spain after crossing the Pacific in the Manila Galleon which made yearly sailings between 1573 and 1823. This book delves into the origins, manufacture, decoration of the porcelain and also describes the trans-oceanic trade system that sustained the demand for this quality pottery. It also includes a catalogue of items conserved in the Museo Nacional del Virreinato.
