- This edition recognized the best of Central America's visual art creations, mostly those done in new generation media and technology. Firts place for Wisbert Carmona for his web installation "Espíritu", second place for Cristina Cuadra for the action in situ (performance) "Columbio Mombacho" and Honor Mentions to: Ricardo Miranda Huezo for his interactive animation "Casas", Rosana Lacayo for the video "Equívoco" and Marcos Agudelo for the object "Desintegración 0.1". Along the amazing pioneering computer and web related artwork is Raúl Quintanilla's collage work titled: "Flesh Memory (No soy de aquí ni soy de allá/ Come to my room)" a piece that debates on Nicaraguan cultural identity and composed by a mask over another mask: the first made with pieces of Pre-Columbian ceramics and the one beneath is a wood folkart mask used in the representation of the colonial play "Güeguense", includes a USB cable.
