Summary
The present memoir-catalogue of the first Triennial of Chile includes texts, theories, photographs and fascinating histories of the 11 exhibitions, workshops and residencies held during the unique artistic conclave that covered 7 cities and was lead by chief curator Ticio Escobar (presently Minister of Culture of Paraguay) coordinating a team of 18 curators that included museographer Osvaldo Salerno and curators Aracy Amaral, Fernando Castro, Roberto Amigo, amongst other intellectuals from Paraguay Argentina, Uruguay, Peru, Spain, and Chile. A part of the events, there was one exhibition that "anticipated" the February (2010) earthquake in Chile: an exhibition of contemporary art organized by curator Fernando Castro (b. Spain) and titled "El terremoto de Chile". Event organized within the framework of the Bicentennial celebrations.
