- Summary
- Fine monographic edition dedicated to photographer Paul Beer. German photographer Beer arrived in Colombia in the mid-1920's and started working as industrial and advertising photographer for several construction and architecture firms, registering in close to 7000 photographs the urban and architectonic transformations of the city of Bogotá. Beer also traveled between 1938 and 1942 to the Colombian Amazonia and Orinoquia regions and created a visual anthropological archive of close to 2000 negatives of the guahíbos Indians and the ethnic communities of Vichada, Guaviare, Meta and Vaupés. The present edition rescues both of Beer's facets (ethnographic and industrial photography) with a selection of photographs, documents and notes. The collection of ethnographic photographs is almost unknown and this is the first time it has been published.
