Summary
Anthological exhibition dedicated to figurative painter Juan Ventayol (b. Montevideo 1915-1971) presenting his art production created from 1938 to 1971. Ventayol was an important protagonist of the agitated 1970's and one of the pioneers in Uruguay of the informalism movement along with Américo Spósito, Hilda López, Jorge Damiani, Agustín Alamán, Manuel Espínola Gómez, Washington Barcala, Vicente Martín (Oscar García Reino), Jorge Páez, Raúl Pavlotzky and Leopoldo Novoa, a group of artists strongly inspired by the constructivism of Torres Garcia, the Italian artist Lino Dinetto, and by the Sao Paulo biennials.
