Homage retrospective exhibition prepared by MAM for artist Franz Krajcberg (b. Brazil 1921) within the framework of the larger event "MAM 60" and inspired in the quality of a body of work that this extraordinary artist has been creating for over 50 years. The expressive character of his sculptures, photographs and paintings confer a strong symbolisms is an accurate indicator of the relationship between art and environment with the intention to make people of all generations reflect, through art on the importance of sustainability. "Brazil, whose greatest wealth is nature, is close to becoming a country of "caatinga" (arid landscape with thorny trees) and "cerrado" (savanna-like landscape) with the exception of a few parks and ecological monuments. We are close to total depletion of our natural resources. We urgently need to distinguish between use from abuse, exploit from despoil, conservation from devastation.
