Summary
A collective exhibition that follows an imaginary route through the American continent, presenting through the artwork (different techniques and formats such as painting, photography, sculpture, and art installations) of diverse artists that represent the diversities and similarities of the rich diversity of people, landscapes and cultures. The selected artists represent a global vision of the different traditions, origins, influences, and innovations that converge in the hemisphere's modern and contemporary art. Some noted names include: Guadalupe Posada (Mexico); Emilio Pettoruti (Argentina); Oswaldo Guayasamín (Ecuador), Yves Telemak (Haiti); Edgar Negret (Colombia); Gilvano Swasey (Belize), Claudia Andujar (Brazil); and North American pop art by Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein. Curator Soledad Garcia reflects on the exhibition "The importance of this exhibition lays on the cultural interchanges and contact zones that give form to the Americas, and that can be observed in the 206 art pieces exhibited"--P.
