- "This exhibition came about because of a birthday, mine in fact. Li Huayi, whose magnificent landscapes we have twice exhibited, discovered that I was born under the sway of the fourth of the twelve animals in the Chinese zodiac, the Rabbit, whose turn has come around again in 2011. He immediately set about painting the captivating album-leaf that appears as number 4 in the present catalogue and most generously presented it to me as a unique birthday gift. Everyone at the gallery was entranced by the painting but also felt it needed company. So we were delighted when, having tentatively pointed this out to Huayi, he enthusiastically agreed to complete the set. The result, the present exhibition accompanied by this catalogue, cannot fail to please." --Foreword, p. 5
