A treatise on such diseases as are the most frequent in, or are peculiar to, the West-India Islands, or the Torrid-Zone, both acute and chronical -- putrid bilius fever, commonly called the yellow fever -- dry gripes, or dry belly-ache -- dysentery -- opisthotonos and tetany -- rabies canina, or madness from the bite of mad animals -- chronical diseases -- nyctalopia, or night-blindness -- elephantiasis -- vena medinensis, dracunculus, or guinea-worm -- leprosy of the Arabians -- leprosy of the joints -- yaws -- impetigo or ring-worm.
