Summary

Exhibition catalogue on the most recent body of work of Duilio Pierri (b. Argentina 1954), presenting close to 50 figurative paintings inspired in the historic "Conquista del Desierto" (Conquest of the Desert), the 19th century military campaign of the Argentine government that exterminated a large part of the Indian population in northern Patagonia and the southern and western Pampas. "The 19th century in our Argentinean territory has been an uninterrupted events of cruel clashes (...) a hot century of great passions and contrast (Our translation)"--P.[7]
