Summary
A thematic study of the work of Pedro Ruíz (b. Colombia 1957) whose trajectory starts in the decade of the 1980's. After studying art in Paris and working for a while in the advertising industry, Ruíz decides to dedicate full time to art, a profession "where his open sense of humor results into something relaxing and agglutinative". This fine edition illustrates the varied techniques and artistic expressions of Ruíz, an artist with an avid sensitivity and skill technique that has alternated between painting, drawing, graphic art, book illustration, photography, scenery, costume design, and multidisciplinary projects. "There are, however, essential topics, impossible to hide, which arise in his extraordinary work: the unwavering concern of the artist and men for nature and the human being, the horror that produce in him the violations that have been committed against them and the need to register them" (Our translation) --Front Flap.
