Summary
The Foundation for Concrete Art and Design Ingolstadt presents the Hungarian artist Vera Molnar (* 1924 in Budapest, Hungary) in honor of her 90th birthday a comprehensive retrospective. Since 1947 Molnar lives and works in Paris. As a great pioneer of digital art, in the late 1960s she used the first mainframes as a central tool for the design of her geometric-systematic works, and since then has worked continuously with the computer. She translates her hand drawings into elementary forms such as the square into self-written programming that considers chance as a central design principle. So she develops series in which the strict regularity is varied by random disturbances.--Gallery website.
