- Are the cultural upheavals of the 1960s nothing more than a media myth, recycled as endless nostalgia? Woodstock, the Summer of Love, student protests, the debacle that was the 1968 Democratic Convention in Chicago evoke a period of material prosperity, cultural innovation, and youthful rebellion.
