- Summary
- In the two years he was in Europe (between 1953 and 1955), artist Marcello Grassmann dedicated his time to learn new techniques for his lithographs, xylographs and drawing. He filled many notebooks with ink drawings made with nanquim, a walnut extract and other paints he prepared. One of these notebooks, dedicated to Sonya Grassmann, is presented in this work as a facsimile edition, along with critical essays by Leon Kossovitch and Mayra Laudanna on the artist. The study accounts for the work of Grassmann since 1942, when he was finishing the technical course in Instituto Profissional Masculino of Sao Paulo, until his return to Vienna in 1955, after exposing his woodcuts which he produced during his stay in this European city.
