Summary
The Seminario de Medios Multiples (Multiple media seminar, SMM) was founded in 2003, by artist and academic José Miguel González Casanova, at ENAP-UNAM. Each seminar cycle has a duration of three years, where participants develop their theoretical and practical projects aimed at specific contexts with the publication of a book at the end of each period: MM 1 in 2005, MM 2 in 2008, y MM 3 in 2011. Throughout this decade, the seminar has published four books, two symposia, and over 50 exhibitions and interventions in public spaces, 4 fanzines as well as presentations at book fairs, roundtables and conferences in various cultural and academic centers. During 2009-2011 and 2012, a permanent open invitation of the Agencia Española de Cooperación Internacional para el Desarrollo (AECID) included the participation of the students of the third and fourth cycle, 25 courses and monthly workshops were organized, such as robotics, radio and video, and theoretical reflection; along with 30 interventions in public spaces, 8 intervention workshops coordinated by renowned American artists such as Shirley Paes-Leme, Rosangela Rennó and Ricardo Basbaum (Brazil), Martín Dufrasne (Canada), Julio Rusln Torres (Cuba), and Carlos Capelán (Uruguay). "This recipe book, the product of the workshop with Paulo Silveira, is the condensation of our interpretations to the act of gnaw, drill, erode, swallow, devour, chew, digest, splurge... the complex art of nurture as a necessity to preserve ourselves in the world" (our translation) --Page [1]
