Summary

Since 2006, the project Casas do Brasil (Houses of Brazil) studies and documents the various types of housing in Brazil with the objective of forming an inventory on the diversity of living in the country. Through graphic records taken by photographer Eduardo Girão, curated by geographer Sandra Lencioni and sociologist Maria Ruth Amaral de Sampaio, the catalogue "Brazil House 2013" features aspects of the architecture of the houses in Nhamundá, a town and municipality located 570 kilometers from Manaus, consisting of elevated and floating houses and houseboats.
