- Summary
- This NBR Special Report examines the nontraditional security challenges confronting India and assesses the implications for the country's global power aspirations if these challenges are not effectively addressed. In the first essay, Mallika Joseph analyzes the significant human security challenges in India today and identifies those that are likely to persist in 2025. In the second essay, P.G. Dhar Chakrabarti offers some hope that India can reform and strengthen its institutions and governance structures, particularly in the context of the tremendous strides the country has made over the past two decades to improve its disaster preparedness and management capabilities.
